2018 TOM BASS PRIZE EXHIBITION

The Tom Bass Prize is the first national Australian prize for figurative sculpture.

The inaugural exhibition of finalists’ works was held in March 2016 at Juniper Hall, Sydney - home of the Moran Prize and was in commemoration of Tom Bass' (1916 - 2010) centenary year. The Prize will be held biennially.

This important and prestigious Prize is a celebration of the human form and its influence on today’s sculptors and is an acknowledgement of the influence Bass had as one of Australia’s pre-eminent public sculptors.

The next Tom Bass Prize will be held 2 - 25 March at Juniper Hall.

The 2018 finalists’ exhibition features 45 artists from across Australia – a showcase of representational, abstract, innovative and contemporary works inspired by the human form.

Tom Bass had a particularly close affiliation with the figure, and it is with this in mind that we created the $20,000 Tom Bass Prize.
